INTRODUCTION
The Hungarian Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians (MVÁÁT) was founded in 2004 by 22 members actively working in the field at that time. The aim of the organization is to represent the field of zoo and wildlife medicine in the country, to outline clinical and research-based information and coordinate work done in this branch of veterinary medicine. MVÁÁT in an NGO working on voluntary basis and since 2010 it has been deemed a public benefit organization. Today, we have 30 members working in many fields of zoo and wildlife medicine and comprise the Hungarian Section of the European Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians (EAZWV).
